Summary

This dossier concerns the composition of the European Parliament. The amendments address the allocation of seats for the 2024-2029 term, the principle of degressive proportionality under Article 14(2) TEU, a proposed Union-wide constituency with reserved additional seats, transnational lists, a permanent mathematical calculation mechanism using Eurostat statistics, gender equality and zipped candidate lists, and arrangements relating to Northern Ireland.
