Summary
This resolution concerns the new European Consensus on Development. Amendments respond to the Commission's proposal to revise the 2005 Consensus in light of the 2030 Agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals and the Lisbon Treaty; some welcome poverty eradication as the primary objective under Article 208 TFEU and a rights-based approach, while others regret a weakened focus on poverty or reject the joint statement on the Consensus.
