Summary

This own-initiative report concerns the EU approach to resilience and disaster risk reduction in developing countries, learning from food security crises. The amendments link disaster risk reduction with climate change adaptation, stress that disaster-prone countries should lead in defining their priorities, address land governance and land grabbing, Policy Coherence for Development, food crises in the Sahel and Horn of Africa, EU resilience initiatives, and microcredit for women.
