Summary

A budgetary file mobilising the European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF) to assist Germany and Italy following floods occurring in 2024. The amendments describe torrential rain, extreme flooding, fatalities and damage to farms, transport infrastructure and small towns, link the disasters to climate change and Europe's faster warming, and call for strengthening or expanding the EUSF, new instruments under the next Multiannual Financial Framework, and climate adaptation and mitigation.
