Summary

This own-initiative report addresses a European Protein Strategy. The amendments call on the Commission and Member States to recognise the role of the fisheries and aquaculture sectors as suppliers of marine and aquatic protein with low carbon footprints, addressing food security, sustainable feed and fishmeal, EU self-sufficiency and seafood imports, fish stocks and marine ecosystems, small-scale and artisanal fishers, and promotion of consumption in nutritional policies.
