Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): SOKOL Tomislav (EPP)
Summary

The European Health Data Space is an ordinary legislative procedure, meaning Parliament and the Council of the EU decide together and the result is binding EU law. It was handled by the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs committees, in the areas of data protection and privacy, public health and digital technologies. The tabled amendments establish interoperable standards for primary and secondary use of electronic health data, rights to access and rectify records (including for rare diseases), digital health authorities, health data access and application processing bodies, joint controllership and data minimisation under Regulation (EU) 2016/679, anonymisation, fees and storage of data in the Union. It shares subjects such as data protection with related files including "European Digital Identity framework".

Plenary votes

14 roll-call votes

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
