Schengen Borders Code
The dossier concerns the Schengen Borders Code. The amendments revise definitions and rules on border surveillance to prevent unauthorised border crossings and counter cross-border criminality, on the 'instrumentalisation of migrants' by a third country or non-state actor, on reducing or closing border crossing points, and on means used by border guards including drones, motion sensors and physical barriers, while safeguarding the right to apply for international protection.
