Summary

A legislative-initiative report on legal migration policy and law. The amendments debate the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, regular migration channels and labour migration versus Member States' competence under the TFEU, solidarity and shared responsibility, securing of external borders and returns, human rights and detention conditions, the role of NGOs and the Frontex Scrutiny Working Group, brain drain, circular migration, remittances and climate-driven displacement.
