Summary

A legislative file on batteries and waste batteries. The amendments distinguish portable, industrial and automotive batteries; set recycled-content targets for cobalt, lead, lithium and nickel; and impose supply-chain due diligence on economic operators covering human rights, child labour, indigenous peoples and environmental risks, alongside a battery passport, safety requirements for stationary energy storage, and rules for second-life and recovery of materials.
