Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): JIMÉNEZ-BECERRIL BARRIO Teresa (PPE)
Summary
This own-initiative report addresses shrinking civil society space in developing countries. Amendments deplore states restricting freedom of expression to silence dissent, attacks against human rights defenders and the press, and the misuse of broad terrorism definitions, and call on the EU, the EEAS, Member States and the EU Special Representative for Human Rights to use human rights and development instruments against restrictive CSO laws.
