Summary
This dossier concerns extending the EC/Uzbekistan Partnership and Cooperation Agreement to bilateral trade in textiles. The amendments focus on cotton production as the main area of EU-Uzbekistan trade, progress since 2013 against child and forced labour, ILO monitoring of the cotton harvest, reported state-led mobilisation of public employees and students, the conditions for Parliament's consent, human rights and politically motivated imprisonment, and diversification away from cotton monoculture.
