Summary
This own-initiative report concerns the role of whistle-blowers in protecting the EU's financial interests. The amendments address protection of whistle-blowers reporting irregularities, fraud and corruption affecting the EU budget, the lack of harmonised protection across Member States, the Staff Regulations rules for EU institution officials, the Commission's failure to submit legislative proposals, the European Ombudsman, and references to Council of Europe and OECD instruments.
