Summary
An own-initiative report on making fisheries controls in Europe uniform. The amendments address perceived inequity among fishermen, divergences in application of the control regulation and in penalties across Member States, the role of the European Fisheries Control Agency, electronic logbooks and inspection forms, the points-based penalty system, the landing obligation and discard ban, illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, and the Automatic Identification System.
