A proposal on end-of-life vehicles, batteries and waste electrical and electronic equipment under the circular economy package. Amendments address removing hazardous substances at the design stage, the waste hierarchy prioritising prevention, planned obsolescence and consumer information on product lifespan, common methodologies for collecting and reporting waste statistics, treatment standards for WEEE, economic instruments such as landfill and incineration taxes, and minimum requirements for shipments of used vehicles.
