2013/2173(INI)·7th term·CONT / EMPL·INI - Own-initiative procedure·CompletedProcedure completed
Subjects: European Social Fund (ESF), Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD) · Court of Auditors · Budgetary control and discharge, implementation of the budget
Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): BALČYTIS Zigmantas (S&D)
Summary
The own-initiative report examines, on the basis of Court of Auditors Special Report 25/2012, whether tools are in place to monitor the effectiveness of European Social Fund spending on older workers. The amendments regret the lack of complete and reliable data, including data disaggregated by gender, and the inconsistent definition of 'older workers'; they call for clear performance indicators in operational programmes, lifelong learning, and stronger efforts against age discrimination.
