Summary
An own-initiative report on maintaining milk production in mountain areas, disadvantaged areas and outermost regions after the expiry of the milk quota regime. The amendments warn that expiry of the milk quotas will disadvantage dairy farmers there owing to higher production, collection and transport costs, address less-favoured and island regions, producer associations, quality designations such as 'Mountain produce', and milk production's role for the regional economy and family farms.
