EU's military structures: state of play and future prospects

This own-initiative report concerns the EU's military structures, their state of play and future prospects. The amendments address the EU's capacity to respond to international crises under the UN Charter, the Common Security and Defence Policy, cuts in national defence budgets and capability gaps, pooling and sharing, initiatives such as Battlegroups, EUFOR and Eurocorps, the mutual defence clause, NATO, and a permanent EU military planning and conduct capability.
