Role of the EU in promoting a broader transatlantic partnership

This own-initiative report concerns the EU's role in promoting a broader transatlantic partnership. The amendments revise citations and recitals on EU-US economic and trade ties, the proposed EU-US Free Trade Agreement, EU-US summits and the Transatlantic Legislators' Dialogue, and shared values. They discuss an increasingly multipolar world and emerging powers such as China, India and Brazil, cooperation across the Atlantic Basin including Latin America and Africa, and defence spending.
