Environmental impacts of shale gas and shale oil extraction activities

The dossier is an own-initiative report on the environmental impacts of shale gas and shale oil extraction. Amendments revise paragraphs on risks to environment, health and climate from unconventional gas drilling and hydraulic fracturing, water use and contamination, chemicals and methane emissions, experience from the US, the adequacy of the EU regulatory framework, and land-grabbing and extractive industries in developing countries.
