Summary
An own-initiative report on the evolution of EU macro-regional strategies, especially in the Mediterranean. The amendments draw on experience from the Baltic Sea and Danube macro-regions, propose Mediterranean and Adriatic-Ionian macro-regional strategies, address financing through cohesion and structural funds, cooperation with third countries under neighbourhood policies, and priority areas such as sustainable tourism, maritime transport, immigration flows and security.
