Summary
An own-initiative report on a sustainable EU policy for the High North. Amendments address the EU's interest and role in the Arctic, the three Arctic EU Member States and the Sami indigenous people, Barents and Northern Dimension cooperation, the effects of climate change and retreating sea ice, estimates of hydrocarbon and mineral resources, the interest of non-Arctic actors such as China, international law, and relations with Norway, Iceland and Greenland.
