2011/2148(INI)·7th term·ENVI / ITRE / TRAN·INI - Own-initiative procedure·CompletedProcedure completed
Subjects: European space policy
Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): PATRICIELLO Aldo (PPE)
Summary
A report towards a space strategy for the European Union benefiting its citizens. The amendments centre on the Galileo and EGNOS programmes and the GMES Earth observation system — its uses for environmental monitoring, civil protection following earthquakes, tsunamis and floods, and combating climate change; they debate GMES funding, its exclusion from the proposed 2014-2020 Financial Framework, and Galileo's advantages over GPS for strategic autonomy.
