Summary
A legislative procedure on maritime safety and the minimum level of training of seafarers. The amendments transpose the Manila amendments to the STCW Convention, improve training quality and the attractiveness of maritime professions, set rules on minimum hours of rest and exceptions through collective agreements, medical fitness standards, requirements for ro-ro passenger and cruise ships, the ship's working language, vessel manning and design, and delegated acts on data collection.
