Financing of reinforcement of dam infrastructure in developing countries

This own-initiative report concerns financing of reinforcement of dam infrastructure in developing countries. Amendments draw on the World Commission on Dams, citing the social, environmental and displacement impacts of large dams, and reference the European Investment Bank's involvement, water security in Africa and the Millennium Development Goals. They focus heavily on glacial melt, glacial-lake outburst floods in the Himalayas and Andes, flood prevention, and climate-change effects on river flows.
