Application of Regulation (EC) No 2004/2003 on the regulations governing political parties at European level and the rules regarding their funding

This own-initiative report concerns application of the regulation on political parties at European level and the rules on their funding. The amendments, citing the Treaty provisions on political parties forming European political awareness, address a common legal, political and fiscal statute for European political parties and their affiliated foundations, separating recognition from funding, the carry-over of funds and building of reserves, internal party democracy and individual membership, and recognition and funding criteria.
