Own-initiative report on the European Security Strategy and ESDP. Amendments address the EU's strategic autonomy and a strong foreign, security and defence policy, multilateralism and the United Nations, the combination of civilian and military capabilities, transparency, cost-efficiency and parliamentary scrutiny of defence, relations with NATO and the OSCE, the Lisbon Treaty, the ATALANTA anti-piracy mission off the Somali coast, and the definition of common European security interests.
