Summary
This own-initiative report concerns the gap between producer prices and the prices paid by consumers. The amendments address food price volatility, rising agricultural production costs, the spread between consumer and producer prices, the concentration and buying power of large food manufacturers, supermarkets and retailers, pressure on farmers' margins, and fair prices and competition along the food supply chain.
