Summary

This proposal concerns Member State and third-country bilateral agreements on applicable law in contractual and non-contractual obligations for sectoral matters. Amendments define the scope to cover bilateral and closed regional agreements falling within Regulations (EC) No 593/2008 and 864/2007, and set out how the Commission assesses and authorises Member States to negotiate, including a Community-interest test, a denunciation clause, and the exclusion of Denmark.
