New animal health strategy for the European Union (2007-2013)

This own-initiative report concerns the new animal health strategy for the European Union (2007-2013). The amendments stress the link between animal and human health, the prevention principle, animal welfare, and the role of farmers, owners and the veterinary profession. They address vaccination and marketing of products from vaccinated animals, the strategy's pillars and timeframe, crisis communication, and coverage of abattoirs, transporters, feed suppliers, pets and stray animals.
