Motion for a resolution on the need to reduce work-related fatalities

2025/3046(RSP)·10th term·EMPL·RSP
Summary

This motion for a resolution addresses the need to reduce work-related fatalities. Citing Article 31 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights and the Vision Zero approach, amendments call for stronger enforcement of occupational health and safety rules, reinforced labour inspectorates, and support for EU-OSHA. They cover commuting accidents, atypical and platform work, artificial intelligence and algorithmic management risks, occupational cancer and carcinogens, climate and heat exposure, and gaps in Directive 89/391/EEC. They invoke the Quality Jobs Act and Working Time Directive, compensation for victims and families, and commemoration through the International Workers' Memorial Day and historic disasters such as Bois du Cazier at Marcinelle and Courrieres.

14 roll-call votes

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
