European Competitiveness Fund
The European Competitiveness Fund is a proposed regulation establishing a new EU funding instrument; under the ordinary legislative procedure Parliament and the Council decide together and the result is binding EU law. Handled by committees including Budgets and Industry, Research and Energy, it falls under the internal market and industrial policy. The tabled amendments set financial envelopes and dedicate shares to specific objectives (including agriculture and food security), create governance bodies such as an independent Investment Committee and a Strategic Stakeholders Board, add a public dashboard tracking EU-funded projects, restructure Earth Observation around a single Copernicus system, and press for distribution favouring less-developed regions. It shares industrial policy with related files including the Net Zero Industry Act.
