Common Agricultural Policy 2028–2034
This procedure concerns the Common Agricultural Policy for the post-2027 programming period. Amendments push scaling up Union protein-crop production to cut dependency on imported soybeans, base LEADER funding on the 2021-2027 period, and make area-based income support voluntary for Member States with a cap of EUR 100 000 per farmer per year, reallocating capped and degressive amounts to environmental, climate, animal-welfare and social measures. They debate extensification of livestock (stocking density towards below 1.4 LSU per hectare), risk-management support above a 20% loss threshold, young farmers' access to land, farm relief services, outermost regions, and climate-neutrality by 2050.
