Union Civil Protection Mechanism and Union support for health emergency preparedness and response
A legislative procedure on the Union Civil Protection Mechanism and Union support for health emergency preparedness and response. The amendments draw a clearer distinction between the civil protection and health sectors, set up a Crisis Coordination Hub and medical evacuation hubs, and strengthen the role of the ERCC, rescEU capacities and stockpiles of medical countermeasures. They add early-warning and situational-awareness tools including Union space data (Copernicus, Galileo and IRIS2), earmark funding for collective preparedness, training and volunteers, and address the needs of outermost, border and island regions.
