Macro-financial assistance to Egypt

2024/0071(COD)·10th term·AFET / BUDG / INTA·COD - Ordinary legislative procedure (ex-codecision procedure)·CompletedProcedure completed
Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): IMART Céline (EPP)
Summary

This dossier concerns macro-financial assistance to Egypt. The amendments reference the EU-Egypt Association Agreement and Partnership Priorities, a financial package of EUR 7.4 billion including assistance of up to EUR 5 billion, Egypt's macro-fiscal situation, an IMF programme, and the repercussions of Russia's war on Ukraine and Hamas attacks on Israel. They make assistance conditional on democracy, the rule of law and human rights, several adding migration.

Plenary votes

30 roll-call votes

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
