Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): ROOSE Caroline (Verts/ALE)
Summary

An own-initiative report on EU development cooperation in support of access to energy in developing countries. Amendments anchor the text in the Sustainable Development Goals (notably SDG 7 on affordable and clean energy by 2030), document the number of people, especially in sub-Saharan Africa, lacking reliable electricity and clean cooking, link energy poverty to gender and to rural-urban divides, and reference the energy crisis triggered by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
