Transparency and integrity of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) rating activities
A legislative dossier on transparency and integrity of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) rating activities. The amendments reference the 2030 Agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement, set rules on the quality, methodologies, public disclosure and supervision (including by ESMA) of ESG ratings, distinguish user-paid and issuer-pay business models, address third-country and private ESG rating providers, and exempt certain private ratings.
