Summary

The dossier is an own-initiative report on the implementation of the Regulations on the European citizens' initiative (ECI). Amendments revise recitals on the ECI as a participatory-democracy tool, online collection of statements of support through central and individual systems, registration and the one-million-signature threshold, low awareness and effectiveness, the revised ECI Regulation, eID systems, and the costs and effort of organising ECIs.
