Industrial property: legal protection of designs. Recast
A recast directive on the legal protection of designs (industrial property). The amendments address amending Directive 98/71/EC, coexistence with EU designs, the impact of information technology, artificial intelligence and 3D printing, visibility of component parts during normal use of a complex product, technical-function exclusions, customs measures against infringing products, the repair clause restoring a complex product's original appearance, terms of protection, and administrative invalidity procedures.
