Summary

The dossier concerns import, export and transit measures for firearms, their essential components and ammunition, implementing Article 10 of the UN Firearms Protocol. The amendments address marking and destruction of seized firearms, risks of diversion and trafficking, an electronic licensing system and customs cooperation, definitions of essential components, dealers, brokers, deactivated firearms and alarm and signal weapons, and treatment of collectors.
