Summary

This dossier concerns geographical indications for wine, spirit drinks and agricultural products. The amendments address verification and control systems for EU and third-country products, an electronic Union register of registered designations of origin and geographical indications, protection under international trade agreements, the role of producer groups and SMEs, obligatory use of symbols on packaging and retail websites, tourism, and the role of online platforms in preventing fraud.
