Islands and cohesion policy: current situation and future challenges
This own-initiative report addresses islands and cohesion policy. Amendments stress the agri-food sector's importance for islands and outermost regions, highlight handicaps such as remoteness, insularity, small holdings and competition from third countries, reference the Farm to Fork strategy and COVID-19 supply difficulties, and call on the Commission to maintain funding through programmes for the outermost regions and smaller Aegean islands (POSEI) and to support territorial development.
