Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy
This own-initiative report on the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy sets out Parliament's own position; it is not itself a law and is not binding. The committees on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, Women's Rights and Gender Equality, Industry, Research and Energy, Legal Affairs, and Transport and Tourism handled it, in transport policy, climate and sustainable development. The amendments call for policies to reduce and end transport's reliance on fossil fuels, referencing RED II renewable-energy targets, electrification and charging infrastructure, batteries and hydrogen, while some insist on technology neutrality and industrial competitiveness. Others address digitalisation, data sharing and cybersecurity, multimodal ticketing, the Galileo GNSS, EURO 7 standards, and a phase-out date for new petrol and diesel cars.
