Summary
This own-initiative report sets out a European strategy for critical raw materials (CRM). The amendments stress reducing primary raw materials use and resource consumption within planetary boundaries, increasing recycling and a circular economy, the EU's high import dependence, environmental and greenhouse gas externalities of extraction and processing, and rising demand driven by batteries, the green and digital transition and Green Deal goals.
