Summary

Legislative dossier on implementing the Kimberley Process certification scheme for the international trade in rough diamonds (recast). The amendments address human rights abuses in conflict-affected and high-risk areas, the limits of the Kimberley Process in covering human rights risks, broadening the conflict-diamond definition to cut and polished as well as rough stones, a mandatory due diligence regime across the value chain, and the OECD Due Diligence Guidance.
