Trade related aspects and implications of COVID-19

2020/2117(INI)·9th term·AGRI / DEVE / INTA·INI - Own-initiative procedure·CompletedProcedure completed
Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): VAN BREMPT Kathleen (S&D)
Summary

This own-initiative report covers trade-related aspects and implications of COVID-19. The amendments stress the vulnerability of global supply and value chains and asymmetric effects on least developed and developing countries, and call on the Commission for a sustainable multilateral trade response, deeper EU-Africa trade relations through economic partnership agreements, 'green corridor mechanisms' for essential goods, diversification including reshoring, and enforcement of Trade and Sustainable Development chapters.

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
