Implementation of the Ambient Air Quality Directives: Directive 2004/107/EC and Directive 2008/50/EC
This implementation report concerns the Ambient Air Quality Directives. The amendments address air pollution as a cause of premature deaths and respiratory and other diseases, transport-related emissions and urban hotspots, alignment of standards with WHO recommendations, phasing out fossil fuel vehicles and promoting e-mobility, low and zero emission zones and sustainable urban mobility plans, the role of local and regional authorities and EU funding, and outermost regions and islands.
