Summary

This annual implementing report on the EU association agreement with Ukraine is an own-initiative report, through which Parliament sets out its own non-binding position. It was handled by the Foreign Affairs and International Trade committees, under bilateral trade relations and European neighbourhood policy. The tabled amendments assess the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), citing a 49% rise in EU-Ukraine trade since 2016 and a lack of export diversification, and address the fourth Macro-Financial Assistance programme of EUR 1 billion, a further EUR 1.2 billion loan and COVID-19 support, regulatory approximation with the EU acquis, labour standards, threats against striking miners, the poultry trade preferences loophole, and corruption concerns.
