Summary
The dossier is a proposed Regulation establishing a multiannual plan for fish stocks in the western waters and adjacent waters. The amendments restate the objectives of the Common Fisheries Policy, in particular reaching and maintaining maximum sustainable yield, the precautionary and ecosystem-based approaches, reliance on the best available scientific advice from ICES, the landing obligation for demersal stocks, regionalised management, and a fair standard of living for fishers.
