Summary
Own-initiative report on strengthening economic, social and territorial cohesion, responding to the Commission's 7th cohesion report. The amendments rework the assessment of cohesion policy's role in economic and social convergence, persistent inequalities between regions, delays in operational programmes and unpaid bills, financial instruments versus direct grants, macro-economic conditionality, ceilings under the next MFF, the Outermost and peripheral regions, and unemployment and youth unemployment figures.
