Summary
Own-initiative report towards an EU external strategy against early and forced marriages. Amendments characterise child, early and forced marriage as a violation of human rights and a form of gender-related violence harmful to personal development, link it to honour-based violence, poverty, lack of education and gender inequality, and cite figures on girls and boys married before age 18, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Istanbul Convention and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
